How to Install LibreOffice 5.3.2 on Ubuntu 16.04 & Higher

   LibreOffice 5.3 represents a significant step forward in the evolution of the software: it offers an introduction to new features such as online with collaborative editing, which increase the competitive positioning of the application, and at the same time provides incremental improvements, to make the program more reliable, interoperable and user-friendly.

Installation instructions:

    Open terminal and insert command line...


$ sudo apt-get remove --purge libreoffice*

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libreoffice/ppa

$ sudo apt-get update

$ sudo apt-get install libreoffice

Install via package if PPA is not up to date

32bit OS

$ wget https://mirror.freedif.org/TDF/libreoffice/stable/5.3.2/deb/x86/LibreOffice_5.3.2_Linux_x86_deb.tar.gz

$ tar -xvf LibreOffice_5.3.2_Linux_x86_deb.tar.gz

$ cd LibreOffice_5.3.2.2_Linux_x86_deb/DEBS/

$ sudo dpkg -i *.deb

64bit OS

$ wget https://mirror.freedif.org/TDF/libreoffice/stable/5.3.2/deb/x86_64/LibreOffice_5.3.2_Linux_x86-64_deb.tar.gz

$ tar -xvf LibreOffice_5.3.2_Linux_x86-64_deb.tar.gz

$ cd LibreOffice_5.3.2.2_Linux_x86-64_deb/DEBS/

$ sudo dpkg -i *.deb
