How to install Darktable 2.2.5 on Ubuntu 17.04

     Darktable is an open source photography workflow application and raw developer. A virtual lighttable and darkroom for photographers. It manages your digital negatives in a database, lets you view them through a zoomable lighttable and enables you to develop raw images and enhance them.

  •     When appending EXIF data to an exported image, do not fail if reading of EXIF from the original file fails

Installation instructions:

    We can add this PPA to Ubuntu Operating  Systems and install Darktable with few easy commands.

Open terminal and insert command line...


$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:pmjdebruijn/darktable-release

$ sudo apt-get update

$ sudo apt-get install darktable
