How to Install Rhythmbox 3.4.2 in Ubuntu 16.04, 17.04, 17.10 via PPA

    Rhythmbox is an audio player that plays and helps organize digital music. Rhythmbox is free software, designed to work well under the GNOME Desktop using the GStreamer media framework. However, Rhythmbox functions on desktop environments other than GNOME.

Installation instructions:

Open terminal and insert command line...

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntuhandbook1/apps $ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install rhythmbox rhythmbox-plugins

   (Optional) To revert back to Rhythmbox 3.3, remove the current one and reinstall Rhythmbox (Remove the PPA after installation) from the main archive.

$ sudo apt-get remove rhythmbox rhythmbox-plugins && sudo apt autoremove $ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install rhythmbox rhythmbox-plugins
