How to install todo indicator panel on Ubuntu

Todo indicator panel is a very handy panel applet on ubuntu for showing to-do list that specified by the user, so you can create a list of things todo and then it will be displayed on the panel applet on the top right corner of your ubuntu desktop.

How to install todo indicator panel on ubuntu
Having this on your ubuntu desktop can be very helpful for remembering any task that you suppose to do. Unfortunately todo indicator panel is not part of ubuntu repository, but don't worry, we still can install it via PPA repository from webupd8, like this:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:nilarimogard/webupd8
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install todo-indicator
I tried this on ubuntu 14.04 and it works well, but after installing i have to restart my computer in order for the indicator panel to work properly. Same thing happened on ubuntu 16.04, i have to restart my computer before i can see the todo indicator panel applet.

The to-do indicator panel is getting the data from a file called todo.txt, you can edit this file with any text editor like gedit or vim.

Any text on todo.txt will be display on the to-do indicator panel, so you need to put your to-do list/ task list on todo.txt, separate by new line.

If a task is completed, you just select the task and click it, this will makes the task disappear from the todo list, if you take a look at the todo.txt, the completed task is marked with X, that's why it's not showing up on the todo list.
