How to Install VueScan 9.5.80 on Ubuntu 16.04, 17.04

   VueScan is one of the most widely used scanning application available for the Linux platforms. It works with most high-quality flatbed and film scanners to produce scans that have excellent color fidelity and color balance. It has advanced features for restoring faded colors, batch scanning, and other features used by professional photographers.


VueScan 9.5.80 Changelog:
  • Improved scan quality with some Minolta film scanners
  • Added support for HP Deskjet 3700
  • Added support for duplex scanning with some Samsung scanners
  • Fixed problem with Microtek ArtixScan 120tf
  • Fixed problem with Brother ADS-1500W and ADS-1600W 

Installation instructions: 
 
Open terminal and insert command line...

32bit OS.

$ wget -c https://www.hamrick.com/files/vuex3295.tgz

$ tar -xvf vuex3295.tgz

$ cd VueScan

$ sudo chmod +x vuescan

$ ./vuescan
 
 64bit OS.

$ wget -c https://www.hamrick.com/files/vuex6495.tgz

$ tar -xvf vuex6495.tgz

$ cd VueScan

$ sudo chmod +x vuescan

$ ./vuescan
