How to Install Linphone 3.6.1 on Ubuntu 16.04, 16.10

   Linphone is an open source Voice Over IP phone (or SIP phone) that makes possible to communicate freely with people over the internet, with voice, video, and text instant messaging. available on mobile and desktop environments (iOS, Android, Windows Phone 8, Linux, Windows Desktop, MAC OSX) and on web browsers.


    Linphone makes use of the SIP protocol (an open standard for internet telephony) and can be used with any SIP VoIP operator, including our free SIP audio/video service.

Installation instructions: 

   Open terminal and insert command line...

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:linphone/release

$ sudo apt-get update

$ sudo apt-get install linphone
