Using Xfce as the default desktop, it is a mid-weight operating system designed to combine an elegant and efficient desktop with simple configuration, high stability, solid performance and medium-sized footprint.

MX Linux 16 New Features and Improvements

MX Linux 16 (Metamorphosis) is built on the reliable and stable Debian Jessie (8.6) base with extra enhancements from the antiX live system, it also comes with numerous up to date applications provided by the MX Linux packagers. Just like previous versions of MX, this release defaults to sysVinit. It's available in 32 and 64 bit. Both iso files weigh in at around 1.2GB in size.  While based on Debian's Stable branch, MX Linux uses the SysVInit software rather than the newer systemd init technology.
