Uget download manager 2.0.8 on Ubuntu

Uget is a download manager similar to IDM on windows, you can install uget from ubuntu repository using apt-get install command but you won't get the latest version which is currently is version 2.0.8.

To install the latest uget (version 2.0.8) you can use the PPA repository, note that if you install 'uget' from default ubuntu repository (not PPA) what you get is the older version which is 2.0.2, so i suggest installing from PPA repository to get the latest one.

How to install uget download manager on ubuntu
  • add the PPA repo for uget
  • sudo apt-add-repository ppa:plushuang-tw/uget-stable
  • run update command
  • sudo apt-get update
  • install uget and aria2
  • sudo apt-get install uget
    sudo apt-get install aria2
